This "man vs. mouse" Western Exterminator sign definitely had to be here as a famous landmark.  It terrified me as a kid, but it's surprising how many people relate to this sign.    Perhaps now this little man has a new job in the Magic Mountain commercials.

As for Philippe's,  I drove around this area when researching.  The view of downtown is fairly accurate if you're looking from the top deck of Dodger Stadium; or if you're going south on Alameda toward Philippe's.
